This a piece of coconut cake from Pattycake Vegan Bakery. It was wonderful! This was my first experience with Pattycake, but I'll definitely be back.
The cake was delicious, moist and really rich. It was $4. Kind of expensive, but not out of the ballpark when compared to dessert prices in other restaurants. Considering that they use 100% vegan ingredients, a lot of organics and local, seasonal goods, recycled material and buy some fair trade, I'm okay with the price. Good people making good food responsibly deserves financial support.
I'm not sure how they manage such beautiful desserts, but I am jealous of their skills.
My roommate, Josh, had a piece of chocolate mint cake. I stole a bite and it was equally as impressive. They have a wide array of cookies, cakes and muffins and I'm sure I'll be returning, so I'll keep you posted on any other desserts from Pattycake.
